The Constant Struggle

Friday, February 24th, 2006

Dear you,

I am so sorry for not writing for such a long time. Here is what is going on in my life. I am continually working on new Carlo Of Hollywood tracks and perfecting old ones. I am still looking for a singer, but working on my voice every day… so hey you never know. I learned to play the wonderful game of darts the other night. Exciting, exhilarating. I have been feeling kinda crappy though as of late. Sometimes I feel like I’m not where I should be. By that I mean in my life. I have a great responsible job and I am making a lot of connections in music and film. But at times I feel like I am not doing things normal 21 year olds do. Like online banking. But this is all really just my mind making me feel dumb. I thought I would mention it is 12:09 in the afternoon, I just woke up, am drinking diet pepsi… its gross but it was the only thing that looks so-so for breakfast. Living in a house with four guys is great. Speaking of such, we are all reading Phillip K. Dick stories daily now. Met a great band last night by the name of Eagle*Seagull. We are booking a show with them tonight but I have the night off, so I went to see them at the BackBooth. Amazing band, they are gonna go places for sure. I talked to them about doing some documentary filming over the summer on their tour. And on the documentary tip, I have started a new one. Here is an excerpt from a little treatment I wrote up:

THE CONSTANT STRUGGLE
A film by Nick Martinolich with and about the Little Reggies interns.

A documentary shot in mini-DV following Lil Nick D’Amaco, Logan Rivera, and Nu Metal Jordan. An honest look at the three teens relationship as they create bands, play playstation one, and collectively get their freedom with Jordan’s procession of his driver’s license. Nobody said growing up was easy, but for these three it’s a constant struggle.

Saturday and Sunday we will be filming. Tuesday I will be accompanying Jordan to get his license. Can’t wait.
